These are just a few samples of the work I did during my time as a Communications Intern at UC Davis Athletics, spanning graphic design, photography, video editing, marketing and behind the scenes shoot production across multiple sports programs.
Video was one of the biggest parts of my role. I worked across a few different formats depending on what the moment called for, and each one taught me something different about how to connect with an audience.
This was an idea I helped bring to life to give fans a real look at what practice actually sounds like. Mic'ing up athletes during training created content that felt genuine and gave followers a side of the team they hadn't seen before.
Short form content created to grow the program's reach on Instagram. Each reel was built around what the audience actually responds to while staying within UC Davis Athletics' visual identity.
These were filmed, edited, and posted during live games with no extra time to spare. It pushed me to make fast decisions, stay focused under pressure, and still deliver content that looked and felt on brand.
I also helped with larger production shoots like podcasts and on-location interviews. My role included setting up equipment, framing shots, and making sure everything ran smoothly on the day of filming.
Here are a few of the graphics I designed across different sports and use cases. Every single one had to follow UC Davis Athletics' brand guidelines, so a big part of the job was learning how to make things look fresh and engaging while staying within what the department already had in place.
Score graphics posted during and after games across multiple sports. These had to be done quickly and accurately, usually while the game was still happening.
Promotional graphics used to drive student attendance and awareness around upcoming games and events.
A few shots from my time photographing UC Davis Athletics events. I always shoot with social media in mind, trying to capture the energy of the moment in a way that actually works on a feed.
A weekly email graphic sent out to the UC Davis student body to highlight upcoming ticketed athletic events. Each edition covered multiple sports and had to be clear, on-brand, and easy to scan quickly. It was a good exercise in organizing a lot of information in a way that actually gets people to show up.
